
A motorcyclist in his fifties has been taken to hospital with serious injuries this afternoon (Friday) after a crash on the outskirts of Freshwater.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
“We were called at 2.17pm to Freshwater Road in Shalcombe to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a van.
“The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
“The road has been closed while emergency services respond to the incident.
“Enquiries continue.”
A spokesperson for the Ambulance Service confirmed an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and air ambulance all attended the scene at Shalcombe near the junction of Broad Lane.
