Jewel Of The South: Isle Of Wight Episode Three To Air Tonight

The third episode of Jewel of the South, starring the Isle of Wight, airs this evening (Thursday).

The Island's High Sheriff, Kay Marriott (pictured below), attends the annual Isle of WIght Steam Fair at Havenstreet,  where she tries her hand at some Morris Dancing with the Oyster Girls - an all-female Morris troupe. Kay helps some local volunteers get ready for the grand procession – where they're hoping to win the prize for best costume.

In Bembridge, John Attrill (main picture) is the fifth generation of his family to work in his village's RNLI and he's hoping that his seven-year old-son Teddy will follow in his footsteps. After a long day at sea, father and son join the thousands of scooter enthusiasts attending the annual Scooter Rally – one of the largest in the world.

Sandown Airport owner, Dan Subhani and his wife Tracy (pictured below), have their work cut out to ensure that the day goes off without a hitch. And it's the ferry operators' job to make sure that the thousands of extra visitors have a weekend to remember.

Russ and Philippa Broughton came to the Island from the mainland nine years ago and decided to swap their corporate jobs to run Adgestone Vineyard. They talk about the challenges and rewards they face within the business.

And it's the final of the Island's Best Kept Village awards. Bembridge, St Lawrence, Godshill and Gatcombe and Chillerton are in the running for this year's crown. Judges Ann Evans and Mary Case have strict criteria and will be casting their gaze over each area.

Narrated by Island treasure, Alan Titchmarsh, Jewel of the South screens at 8pm on Channel 5.
