Eric Takes To The Skies To Fulfil Dream Aged 92

An Isle of Wight resident finally got to live out one of his dreams - at the age of 92.

Eric Green, who lives at Springfield Nursing Home in Shanklin, was born on the Island in 1932 and has always wanted to take a pleasure flight around the Isle of Wight, especially over Cowes, where he was born and raised.

Back in April, the wellbeing leads launched its ‘Dream Big, Live Big’ campaign, which enables people to live their forever dreams.

Lead for the Island, Nikki Clark, spoke to care home activities coordinators to get the initiative underway.

She said:

"When we knew Eric wanted to fly around the Island, we got straight onto arranging this for him and his family.

"This was Eric's dream and it was lovely seeing Eric having the best time up in the plane.

"This is an ongoing project for our homes, and we hope to achieve many more dreams for our wonderful residents living within our Hartford care homes."
