Eternal Optimists - BBC Acclaimed Isle Of Wight Band Release Latest Single

An Isle of Wight band, who are set for an action-packed Kashmir Stage appearance at this year's Isle of Wight Festival, have released their latest single.

Indie-alt rockers, The Optimists, dropped new track, Queen of Clowns, after recording at Studio 5a in Cowes alongside Coach Party's Guy Page.

Following on the heels of multiple BBC Introducing features, the quartet were recently among the bands selected to compete at the Wight Noize competition for a place on the IW Festival main stage.

Front man, Matt Read, says:

“Queen of Clowns is a song that takes you back to school where you always had a queen bee surrounded by clowns.

"The new single has made us think about expanding our sound and making it edgier while retaining the same commercial
appeal”

Formed in early 2018, front man Matt Read, guitarist Aaron Meakin, bassist Henry Bolton and drummer Jacob Cass have rapidly become a staple of BBC's Introducing set list.
