Fairlee Fireworks Raises £35K For Mountbatten And WILL Return For 2023

Isle of Wight Festival and Isle of Wight Radio's Fairlee Fireworks extravaganza has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Mountbatten.

Despite the bad weather, the event saw hundreds of people turn out for live music, rides, a fire walk and an impressive firework display at North Fairlee Farm.

Such was the success, it's been revealed it will be back in 2023 to, again, support the Island's hospice.

Lorraine White, Major Events Fundraiser at Mountbatten, said:

"We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you – our wonderful brave ‘soles’ for not only braving the weather on Saturday, but for walking across literal fire for Mountbatten!

"We are SO appreciative of all your fundraising efforts and we hope you had fun in the process!

"We are extremely excited to announce the event has already raised an incredible £35,000!

"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! Your support will make a huge difference to Mountbatten and is so appreciated."

66 brave 'soles' walked over hot coals to raise money for Mountbatten.

Those who attended were treated to live music from the likes of Foo Fighters tribute band, Foo Fighterz.

On-stage entertainment was hosted by Isle of Wight Radio's Topping in the Morning team.

Fairlee Fireworks will return next year on November 4.
