A family-run business is coming to the Isle of Wight, to take over Newport's former ATS Euromaster site.
Elite Garages has confirmed it will open its first Island premises in the new year.
The business, which also has branches in Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth, will move into the old ATS building opposite Morrisons.
It has been sat empty since ATS closed after the first COVID lockdown. The South Street site will become the 16th vehicle repair centre in the Elite Garages group.
A spokesperson for Elite Garages said:
"We see huge potential in the Newport site, which will offer a range of automotive services including MOTs, tyres, servicing, free checks, batteries, exhausts, clutches, wheel alignment, brakes and other mechanical repairs. The site will also offer electric vehicle servicing.
"Elite Garages has been a family-run business for over 50 years, with 3 generations of the family working together. We have a very loyal customer base across all our branches, with customers returning for our friendly, trustworthy service.
"The site will be overseen by Area Manager Mark Stevens, whose closest existing site is in Portsmouth. We will begin rejuvenating the site and recruiting for a new team at the start of 2022."
