Fire crews were called to a Ryde residential home this afternoon (Thursday).
Teams from Newport and Ryde visited Highfield Nursing Home on Queen's Road after receiving a call shortly before 3pm.
The fire, which emanated from a tumble dryer in the home's laundry room, was out by the time the crews had arrived and nobody was hurt.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service confirmed:
"Crews from Ryde and Newport arrived at the home after receiving a report at 2.58pm and made sure the scene was safe, although the fire was out before they attended.
"The incident was stopped at 3.26pm with no injuries reported."
