Firefighters are battling a fire in a field off Great Preston Road this afternoon (Monday).
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue confirmed a call was received at 3.39pm after smoke was seen coming from the field.
Four appliances and a water carrier for Ryde, Newport, Shanklin and Ventnor are currently in attendance.
The incident is ongoing.
