'Be responsible if you're having a barbecue' - that's the message from Isle of Wight firefighters.
The stark warning comes as a major incident was narrowly avoided when a discarded barbecue caused a large fire in the open at Alum Bay.
A large area of around 50m x 50m was alight -after a disposable bbq was carelessly discarded.
It set fire to hillside bushes and spread quickly.
Fortunately, thanks to the quick actions of 30 firefighters, a major incident and environmental disaster was avoided.
In total, six fire appliances, two water carriers and the police all attended.
