First Acts Announced For Cowes Fringe 2025

The first wave of acts has been announced for this year's Cowes Fringe event.

The three-day celebration of the arts is back for its third year, bringing music, theatre, and comedy together for an electrifying May Bank Holiday weekend (May 23-25).

Hosted in venues across Cowes, the event showcases a dazzling mix of local and national talent, drawing fringe-goers from far and wide.

First acts announced

Gianluigi Secchi – virtuoso Italian guitarist and composer who has performed in major venues across Europe, the US and Australia.

His music is a masterful blend of jazz, world, and fingerstyle guitar, influenced by his global travels.

Having played prestigious events such as The Ned and Crazy Coqs, his mesmerising performances promise a journey through intricate melodies and breathtaking improvisation.

Mumma Mia – The UK’s ultimate ABBA tribute experience, Mumma Mia delivers a show packed with high-energy medleys, authentic costume changes, and all the best-loved hits.

From Dancing Queen to Waterloo, this act ensures a singalong spectacular that will transport audiences straight to the golden era of pop.

Their live band backing and dynamic performances guarantee a party atmosphere that fans of all ages will love.

Ode to Joyce – A loving tribute to Joyce Grenfell, one of the UK’s greatest comedic performers, Ode to Joyce brings her timeless wit, songs, and monologues back to life.

Performed by the acclaimed Cheryl Knight, and directed by Paul Knight, this show has received critical acclaim at London’s Jermyn Street Theatre and continues to delight audiences nationwide.

Featuring both hilarious and poignant moments, this is a must-see for fans of classic British humour.

Velma Celli – Known as ‘The UK’s Queen of Live Vocal Drag’, Velma Celli, the alter ego of West End star Ian Stroughair, has wowed audiences worldwide.

With a career spanning hit musicals such as Cats, Chicago, and Rent, Velma has become a global cabaret sensation, performing at Edinburgh Fringe, 54 Below NYC, and even for royalty.

Expect amazing vocals, dazzling costumes, and a razor-sharp sense of humour in a show that blends pop, rock, and musical theatre hits.

JAMRoKi - At just 15 years old, this young man is making waves in the festival circuit as a DJ and drummer.

Having started making music at just 10, he quickly developed a talent that saw him playing major festivals, including Notting Hill Carnival, Isle of Wight Festival, Kendal Calling, and Camp Bestival. His sets blend drum and bass, house, and electronic beats, combining live drumming and DJ skills to create an electrifying and immersive experience.

Amy Bird Band – Fronted by Isle of Wight’s own Amy Bird, this band is a powerhouse of soul, funk, and Americana. Amy has honed her craft on the West End stage and performed at some of the UK’s most renowned venues, including Ronnie Scott’s and The 606 Club.

Their setlist blends deep cuts and fan favourites, covering legendary artists such as Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, and The Doobie Brothers, ensuring a groove-filled night to remember.

The Rocka – A pop-rock party band known for their high-energy performances and diverse repertoire spanning rock, pop, and indie anthems.

Having played weddings, corporate events, and major festivals, they are renowned for their ability to get any crowd on their feet.
