Fitness Group Holds 24-Hour Fit-A-Thon Challenge To Raise Funds For Isle Of Wight Youth Trust

Anneka Wilson Fitness (AWF) has chosen the Isle of Wight Youth Trust as this year's nominated charity, with a stamina sapping fundraising challenge held on their behalf.

The team organised a 24 hour fit-a-thon where they performed one exercise every minute on the minute, for 24 hours.

Anneka Wilson, owner of AWF, explains:

“Last year we hosted a charity event in support of my friend and fellow team member.

"We raised money for Breast Cancer Now. It was a huge success, so I wanted to do it again.

"This time I wanted to support a local charity, so I chose The Youth Trust. Mental health is a topic I am passionate about and it is close to my heart having suffered with my mental health in childhood.

"I understand how important the Youth Trust's work is in supporting young people and their families."

Team members chose from a press-up, squat, sit-up or burpee for the challenge, with some taking things even further, and one brave soul completing 1,000 burpees in two hours.

The event has raised around £500 to date

Jo Dare, CEO of the Youth Trust, said:

“This is such a great way to raise funds for the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, linking the benefits of movement with mental health.

"We are very grateful for the support from AWF and the team who worked incredibly hard on completing the challenge. Thank you to everyone who supported them”
