The Cowes to East Cowes Floating Bridge is out of service - again!
Sources close to Isle of Wight Radio say it grounded this afternoon (Thursday).
Cars are said to be queuing in East Cowes as a result.
Staff sickness means the crossing was pulled on Monday too.
An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said:
"Due to fault on the floating bridge, it will be out of service for the rest of today (Thursday) until repairs can be undertaken on Friday morning.
"A launch service for foot passengers and cyclists is now in operation and further updates will be given when we know the expected time it will return to service. Apologies for any inconvenience."
Local Councillor for East Cowes Karl Love said:
'As per usual floating bridge is broken down at the most inconvenient time whenever Island is expecting an influx of tourists.'
Due to fault on the floating bridge, it will be out of service for the rest of today (Thursday) until repairs can be undertaken on Friday morning. The launch service is now in operation. We'll update you here when we know more. #iwnews #flobri #IsleOfWight
