Flood Alert Issued For Isle of Wight Coast As Stormy Weather Arrives

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency as high tide reaches higher levels than normal today (Wednesday).

Around 10-15mm of rainfall is expected, combined with a Force 7 wind and large waves. Residents living close to sea walls and esplanades are warned that such locations could see some flooding as tide levels climb 0.5m higher than normal.

Freshwater Bay, Sandown, Shanklin, Ryde and Gurnard are all on the list of locations likely to be affected.

No property flooding is expected.
