Access to Devils Chimney in Bonchurch has now reopened.
Isle of Wight Council contractors started working to improve and repair the narrow steps on Monday.
An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said:
"Devil's Chimney is a popular path, so we keep a careful eye on this area, as the land is subject to movement.
“A timber flight of steps was beginning to slip and in the interests of public safety we regretfully closed them to the public so urgent repairs can take place.”
We're pleased to report that thanks to our #Rightsofway team and contractors, the Devil's Chimney steps at Bonchurch Landslip are now reopened. It's a tricky place to work but we know how popular this extraordinary route is. #iwnews #isleofwight @gifttonature pic.twitter.com/XzgetuL1sb
