Free Netball Sessions Now Available For Islanders

Isle of Wight residents can now apply to join a free of charge 12-week netball programme thanks to funding from Isle of Wight Council.

The offer is part of the gloji Exercise Support programme, a digital platform that works around busy schedules, and is available to eligible local residents. In addition to the netball, the programme also offers free access to digital weight loss support.

All abilities are welcome, so whether you are a complete beginner or already know your way around a netball court, you can take part. Each session starts with a weigh-in and guidance from an expert health coach to help you set goals and work towards achieving them. Then it’s onto the court to play two short games, with rolling substitutions and breaks factored in.

The program aims to help participants gradually build up their fitness, skills and confidence. with gloji by your side to help you every step of the way.

In between the weekly netball sessions, participants can go online to learn how to take their health and wellbeing to the next level. They receive free access to a digital weight loss programme that includes a 12-week interactive video series, hundreds of articles, tips and guides, as well as delicious, simple and nutritious recipes and a handy online journal to track their progress.

Emma Seabrook, 43, from the Isle of Wight, is one of those who has taken part in the gloji programme before:

"The healthier choices I have made to my diet and lifestyle has impacted on my overall health, lowering my blood pressure and cholesterol."
