Fundraiser Launched To Help Family Following Suspected Arson Attack In Binstead

A fundraiser has been launched to aid a family whose home was badly damaged in an apparent arson attack on the Isle of Wight this week.

As previously reported by Isle of Wight Radio, police arrested a 37 year old man following a blaze at a property in Binstead yesterday (Monday).

Fire crews attended Sherbourne Avenue after flames were spotted coming from a front door and tracking across the front of property. No one was hurt in the incident.

Now, a GoFundMe page has been setup to try and support the affected family.

A statement on the page said:

"Our dear colleague Mandi Stafford and her family have been left in a terrible situation after an arson attack on their home in Binstead leaving the property in devastation.

"We are raising funds to support Mandy and her family to get back on their feet after this disaster has struck."
