Firefighters have been tackling a field fire in Arreton this evening (Thursday), believed to have been caused by a goose flying into an electricity pole.
The incident has left some residents of the village without power.
A field next to Arreton CE Primary School caught alight.
Isle of Wight Radio has been told a goose flew into an electricity pole.
It's believed the resulting sparks, from a power line, were the cause.
Crews from Shanklin and Newport fire stations responded to the incident, having been called at around 6.30pm.
The fire is now out.

*A total of 23 postcode areas are affected by a power outage.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSE) says its engineers are on site and hey aim to have the power restored by 2am.
They were first alerted at 6.35pm.
