The owner of a pond in Brighstone says she is "heartbroken" after schools of fish were found to have died.
Hot weather is being blamed for the evaporating water levels at the pond near to Chilton Lane.
Its owner, Sue Fisk, says she is "very aware" and is working to "resolve" the issue immediately.
Mrs Fisk, who runs Chilton Farm, says the pond has a "very bad" build up of silt. She told Isle of Wight Radio that "diggers" are there this afternoon, digging an "enormous hole".

The pond in Brighstone, which has been there since 1977, is one of several on the Island to have been affected by the hot weather.
Isle of Wight Radio has approached the Environment Agency for a comment.
Some of the fish were relocated to the RSPCA, while others were taken to a private lake.
