Heavy rainfall on the Isle of Wight has led to a flood alert being issued for the Eastern Yar between Whitwell and Bembridge.
The Environment Agency said that in the last 24 hours, more than half a month’s rain (27mm) has been recorded at Wroxall.
The rain has eased, but the river will begin rising towards the top of the river bank at Alverstone. Some field flooding may also occur at Langbridge. Property flooding is not expected. The rain should ease over the next few hours.
At Alverstone, the river has peaked, but at Sandown, the river is continuing to rise until 10am this morning (Tuesday) which could cause some impact flooding to Golf Links Road.
The flood alert is expected to be updated at 11am.
