Volunteers from charity Friends of St Mary’s Hospital turned Santa over Christmas, delivering several hundred gifts to in-patients and staff.
Because of COVID restrictions no gifts were handed out individually.
Instead, each ward received a bag of sweets for staff to then carry out the final distribution.
Chairman, Lesley Myland, said:
“It is important we should still demonstrate in some small way that we care about the patients and staff in hospital over Christmas.
“It’s just another service our charity likes to provide, in addition to running retail outlets and buying much needed medical equipment.”
Friends of St Mary's Hospital is made up of volunteers.
Money raised by the charity goes to buying equipment and supporting the hospital.
