The Isle of Wight recorded its hottest day of the year yesterday, with temperatures climbing above 34 degrees in Binstead.
The IW Met Service recorded a high of 34.7 there, with Wootton climbing to 34.4. At least four Island areas rose above 34.
Despite its fame for having its own microclimate, Ventnor lagged behind on the temperature scale, recording just 27.
