East Cowes' first indoor market returns to the town today (Saturday).
It follows the success of the last event in May, when "community spirit and vibrancy" were said to be in abundance.
The refurbished town hall will once again play host. Returning for seconds are local traders, who are promising a range of crafts and stalls.
It is a place for catching up and socialising as well as buying local soaps, jewellery, cards, art, candles and more.
Tracy Reardon, Chair of East Cowes Town Council:
“We are delighted to be backing this market in the gorgeous Town Hall Building. This market will help bring the community together and make use of the wonderful asset that is at the heart of the town.
"We are really looking forward to meeting all the local producers and makers and welcoming islanders to the new indoor market."
Claire Kennard, Director of Market Days CIC:
"Market Days CIC was set up to revive markets in Newport and the Isle of Wight and we are really happy to be working with the East Cowes Town Council who have been so incredibly supportive and proactive in bringing this idea to fruition.
"This will be our first regular market outside of Newport. We believe that markets are so much more than just a place to shop, they are full of life and connection and vibrancy where you can directly support your local producers and makers. If you feel strongly about shopping local than where better than at a market where you can buy produce straight from the grower or maker?"
The market will open at 12.30pm and go on until 4.30pm on the following dates:
- August 20
- September 17
- October 15
- November 19
