The Isle of Wight Council has celebrated the official opening of the co-working and flexible office space Building 41 in Northwood, with the unveiling of an inaugural plaque by the Council Leader Lora Peacey-Wilcox and Cabinet member, Julie Jones-Evans.
With Over 100 people in attendance, guests were treated to tours of the building’s state of the art facilities – including soundproofed meeting pods, spacious boardrooms, and trendy breakout spaces.
The building, a first of its kind for the Isle of Wight, aims to bring Island businesses together and offers networking, business growth and productivity opportunities. Extra support initiatives and workshops delivered by the Go for Growth programme and Business Impact Workshops are also available to all island SMEs.
Chris Ashman, Isle of Wight Council Director for Regeneration, said:
“I’m really pleased at the turn-out and response from Island businesses expressing interest at the open day.
"The buzz and networking evident today is what we can expect every day as more businesses see Building 41 as their home from home."
Julie Jones-Evans, Cabinet member for Levelling Up, Regeneration, Business Development and Tourism, added:
"All the planning and hard work that went into creating Building 41 has paid off, the reception from the guests made my heart sing.
"It's a first class environment to enable businesses to thrive and connect. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate this new asset to our Island."
