New research has shown the Isle of Wight is among the lowest areas of job availability growth in the UK.
The news comes despite numbers across the country reaching a six-year high, with an increase of 71% in job availability across the UK.
The Island has seen a small amount of growth, with 9% more job adverts than 12 months earlier.
The number of vacancies is at its highest since 2017 in around eight out of ten local authority areas across the country.
The study by A-Plan Insurance analysed ONS data which compared job adverts in January of each year between 2017 and 2022.
It found 234 of 331 local authorities have a higher number of vacancies in 2022 than any of the five previous years.
On average across the country, the number of job adverts has risen 88% since 2021.
The lowest increases are as follows:
Commenting on the figures, a spokesperson for A-Plan Insurance said:
“After the height of the pandemic, areas started to rebuild and this may explain why we are seeing a large spike in some areas of the UK in job adverts this year.
"Over the past year, there has been a large shift to remote working — something people are seeking out more and more."
The research was carried out by A-Plan Insurance, which has more than 100 branches nationwide, including one in Newport.
