The Isle of Wight Council has suspended all bin collection services today.
The move comes as a result of a red weather warning being issued with Storm Eunice set to cause severe disruption.
All waste collections today are suspended. Please take your waste back into your property and secure it so it doesn't blow about. Lynnbottom is closed today (Fri) only for household waste, but open tomorrow (Sat). See our website: https://t.co/jzL87z0Icc#iwnews #IsleofWight pic.twitter.com/PDrqhl2Zxz

Natasha Dix, head of waste services, said yesterday:
"During high winds, bins can be blown over risking the waste being strewn into the environment."
The IW Council earlier issued the following advice regarding bins:
- Make sure bin lids are closed and secure.
- If there is no shelter at the kerbside, place bins in clusters with your neighbours' bins.
- Place excess card, paper and mixed recycling in clear or white sacks and weigh down if possible.
