A cannabis research company on the Isle of Wight has announced a 'ground-breaking' new partnership with a leading CBD law expert - Robert Jappie.
As previously reported by Isle of Wight Radio, cannabis research company Vecticanna launched a new facility for the research and development of cannabis-based healthcare on the Isle of Wight.
Now, the firm has partnered with Mr Jappie who is a partner of Ince London.
Robert brings a wealth of experience in CBD Regulation and Compliance to the business, previously heading the UK’s first dedicated Cannabis Law department which launched in 2018, as well as being instrumental in obtaining the first cannabis license in England for the child Alfie Dingley in 2018.
The move to bring this industry specialist alongside the existing expert panel of Academics and Doctors has been a key focus for the Vecticanna board to strengthen their case for the Island’s very own research facility.

Director Adam Mawer said:
“Having Robert join us will strengthen our application as it reaches its final stages and bring a wealth of knowledge around cannabis law here in the UK for our proposed research facility here on the Isle of Wight
“We’re incredibly pleased to have this industry-leading lawyer supporting us with our future research activities and the benefits it can bring to the local economy, as well as the worldwide research of the health and medical benefits of CBD.”
Vecticanna – which incorporates WightCBD and Island Hemp Farm Ltd – will bring year- round employment opportunities for many Islanders with the hope that the site will eventually employ over 60 people.
