Isle Of Wight Caregiver Set For National Award Event After Being Named Best In Region

A caregiver from the Isle of Wight has been named the Social Care Nurse of the year at a regional awards ceremony.

Last Friday (November 18) saw Micha Legaspi from Wootton Bridge based Solent Grange Nursing Home scoop the Social Care Nurse gong at the Great British Care Awards.

The ceremony for the South East Region was held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole.

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK celebrating excellence across the care sector.

Solent Grange was also shortlisted for the Care Home Team Award, but was pipped at the post.

More than 500 people attended the ceremony hosted by James Argent from “The Only Way is Essex” television series.

Upon winning her Award, Solent Grange Deputy Manager Micha said:

"To be recognised for something I love and am passionate about means a lot to me.

"Being nominated and shortlisted for this award came as a surprise.

"I would like to dedicate this (success) to the Solent Grange Nursing Home team and our lovely residents."

 Micha will now be put forward for the National Awards ceremony, held at the ICC in Birmingham on the March 17, 2023.
