Isle Of Wight College Open Day This Saturday

This Saturday (January 27) the Isle of Wight College is opening its doors to prospective students and their families.

The day will include tours, tasters, and exciting updates.

Both the Whippingham campus for engineering (CECAMM - Centre of Excellence for Composites Advanced Manufacturing and Marine) and Newport campus will be open.

The College recently received a shining Ofsted report at the end of last year,

The Isle of Wight College Open Day (10am to 2pm) is an opportunity for visitors to tour the college campus, talk to existing students and discover more about adult learning and the options available.

You can get involved with activities such as immersive performing arts shows, sport & fitness challenges and sampling hospitality’s delicious creations.

T Levels are equivalent to 3 A Levels but differ by offering 80% classroom work and 20% real work.

This means that on completion students can move on to university, start an apprenticeship or move straight into the workplace.

For 2024, T Levels will be offered in:

  • Engineering
  • Computing
  • Health
  • Childcare
  • Plumbing & Gas
  • Business
  • Hair & Beauty
  • Legal Services

The open day is not only for students leaving school though, but there will also be opportunities for adults to find out more about:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Distance Learning
  • Access to Higher Education courses
  • Short Courses and Employer Training
  • International opportunities
  • University Centre Isle of Wight

Prospective students can also find out about the range of bursaries and financial assistance available as well as the college’s vast range of enrichment such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, subsidised international travel and use of on-site facilities such as the salons and college gym.
