The Isle of Wight Conservative Party has revealed its candidates ahead of May’s local elections.
The party has announced a list of 22 new hopefuls and 17 existing councillors who are hoping to keep their seat.

The party says the new candidates brought a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including a former policewoman, retired headteacher, a litigation consultant, a digital communications manager and a retired barrister.
