Isle Of Wight Coronavirus Case Rate Continues To Fall

The Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus case rate continues to fall.

On what marks one year since the first lockdown, two new cases have been recorded on the Island.

Since the start of the pandemic, 6,705 cases have been registered here.

The Island's rolling average now stands at 15.8 per 100,000 - yesterday (Monday) it was at 17.6.

As of today (Tuesday), the Island has the 11th lowest caste rate in the UK.

The UK average is 57.1.

In total, 279 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness.

No new deaths were recorded in today's NHS England data, but backdated ONS figures showed one person had died at home.
