An Isle of Wight councillor is to appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday), accused of historic child sex offences.
46-year-old Daryll Pitcher, of Norman Way in Wootton, has been charged with two counts of raping a girl under the age of 16.
He also faces an accusation of indecent assault.
The alleged historic offences are said to have happened when Cllr Pitcher was a child himself.
He is due to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates tomorrow.
