A trial date has been set for an Isle of Wight councillor accused of historic child sex offences.
Appearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court this morning (Monday), 46-year-old Daryll Pitcher, of Norman Way in Wootton, pleaded not guilty to three charges.
He is accused of two counts of raping a girl under the age of 16. He also faces an accusation of indecent assault.
It's alleged the historic offences happened when Cllr Pitcher was a child himself.
A trial date has been set for February 13, 2023. It is expected to last for five days.
The case was adjourned for a pre-trial hearing on September 5.
He has been granted conditional bail until that date.
