Take a bow John Giddings — Isle of Wight Festival 2023 was yet another remarkable event to add to the ever-growing legacy of the annual music behemoth.
The Main Stage action at the sold-out four-day Barclaycard sponsored extravaganza culminated with a spellbinding performance from Robbie Williams.
The former Take That star had onlookers in fine 'crowdeoke' form as they sang along in unison to hits such as "Angels", "Millennium" and "Rock DJ."
In between songs, Robbie regaled the crowd with heartfelt, humorous and nostalgic conversation (including the one below with a fan named Nadine!)
The likes of Blondie, The Manic Street Preachers, Mika and Echo and the Bunnymen were just some of the other names on a stacked Sunday line-up.
In addition to those global stars, the festival again provided a platform for local talent to flourish.
Two of Isle of Wight Radio's Emerging Artists of the Month had opened up the Main Stage on Sunday.
Phoenix (below), despite being on crutches, opened proceedings with an exquisite set which showcased her astonishing vocal range, while The Optimists also made their debut on the stage with a breathless exhibition of indie rock.
As great as Sunday was, there was so much else of note over the course of the weekend.
Going back to the start of the festival, Groove Armada provided an enjoyable Big Top DJ set on Thursday evening, while LF System also cranked out a string of sublime dance tracks.
Pulp had lit up Friday evening's Main Stage antics with a quirky and exuberant performance, entertaining audiences with hits including "Disco 2000" and "Common People."
Sophie-Ellis Bextor added to the 90s/noughties vibe of the day and The Human League gave Big Top revellers a zealous set filled with hits such as "Don't You Want Me?", "Tell Me When" and "Together In Electric Dreams."
Sam Ryder and The Chemical Brothers were among major names who proved popular on Saturday.
The latter put on the best visual show of the entire weekend, with their lazers, lights and...robots (below) combining for a memorable headline performance.
The Barclaycard Stage hosted a myriad of secret sets, including one from Sugababes — who used their original line-up after having gone through several incarnations over the years.
Meanwhile, the fire shows on the Cirque de la Quirk stage and phenomenal Kashmir performances from JoJo and the Teeth and Mauvey ensured there was plenty for everyone to enjoy over the course of three-and-a-half days of action.
There's bound to be some post-festival blues for Islanders this week, but fear not — plans are already in place for the Isle of Wight Festival 2024.
There are (probably) only another 362 or so days until that unfolds!
