Isle Of Wight Festival Thursday: Day One Highlights To Look Out For

The Isle of Wight Festival is getting underway today (Thursday), with a stacked line-up in place for the four-day event.

Seaclose Park will open its Main Stage arena tomorrow, but Thursday sees a number of notable acts taking to stages such as the Big Top, Electro Love, Kashmir Cafe and Cirque de la Quirk.

Here are a few of the highlights to look out for on the opening day!

That Peter Crouch Podcast: Live (Big Top, 4.30pm - 7.30pm)

With more than 80-million listeners worldwide, That Peter Crouch Podcast is firmly cemented at the UK's most-listened -to sports audio offering.

The podcast will coincide with the Big Top's earliest ever opening time, and there will be a pre-match and post-match feature around the England vs Denmark game, which kicks-off at 5pm.

The Optimists (Hipshaker, 7.30pm - 8.15pm)

The five-piece indie rockers won last year's Wight Noize competition to appear on the Main Stage, and will appear at the Hipshaker Lounge tonight.

Graduates of Platform One, their high-intensity performance is sure to set a perfect tone for the rest of the weekend.

Dagny (Big Top, 8.45pm - 9.30pm)

Since her breakthrough in 2016, synth-pop star Dagny Norvoll Sandvik has established herself as one of Norway's biggest artists.

In addition to her own songs, Dagny often features alongside or in conjunction with other major names, including Kary Perry, The Wombats and Crystal Fighters.

DJ Sexy Dad (Cirque de la Quirk, 9.15pm - 10pm)

Smashing out rave nonsense since the mid-90s, this is truly a left-field act.

The Bristolian DJ promises to bring a bit of everything to the stage 'as long as it BANGS!'

Scouting for Girls (Big Top, 10pm - 11pm)

Four top ten singles, more than two million albums sold and a string of successful tours have marked Scouting for Girls as one of the most consistent bands in the country over the past couple of decades.

Songs such as "She's so Lovely" and "Elvis Ain't Dead" are sure to have the Big Top bouncing tonight.
