Islanders are being told to brace themselves for 'a few centimetres of snow' as the cold weather continues.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice, with immediate effect.
The alert is in place between 9.52am today (Sunday) until 1pm.
It said:
“A mixture of rain and snow showers are moving onshore across Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
“With surfaces below freezing, this is leading to a combination of patchy ice, as well as a few centimetres of snow, particularly over higher ground inland. Showers will clear east this afternoon.”
The forecaster warned of icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
