An Isle of Wight kickboxer has made his Team GB debut at the European Championships.

Saturday November 11 saw Dominic Marsh — a member of the Panther Kickboxing Club — travel to the WAKO European Championships to represent Great Britain.

The 21-year-old fought in the Full Contact Under 67KG category against the Turkish Champion, losing on points but gaining valuable experience for future events.

He has been Kickboxing for 12 years, and is currently the Head Coach for Sandown's Panther Kickboxing Club.

Having set a 2020 lockdown goal of getting into Team GB, Dominic attended squad training sessions across the country before receiving his inaugural call-up in July.

Dominic said:

"This was the best experience of my life — I feel proud to represent my country, the Isle of Wight and my club.

"I would like to thank my sponsors who made this trip possible.

"Without their support I would not be able to fight athletes who are fully funded by their countries."

Dominic will compete at the British Championships next February.
