Two men from the Isle of Wight have been charged in connection with the supply of Class A drugs.
Police stopped a vehicle in Portsmouth at 9.30pm on Tuesday evening (28).
It’s alleged a passenger ran off and threw a rucksack containing suspected drugs into the water at Gunwharf Quays.
27-year-old James Brian Rose, from Shanklin, and 44-year-old Martyn Shotton, from Cowes, were arrested.
They have since been charged:
- James Brian Rose, aged 27, of North Road in Shanklin, charged with concealing criminal property and two counts of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
- Martyn Andrew Shotton, aged 44, of Sun Hill in Cowes, charged with concealing criminal property, drug driving, and two counts of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court this morning (30).
