Isle Of Wight MP Votes In Favour Of Controversial Internal Market Bill

The Isle of Wight's MP has voted in favour of the Prime Minister's controversial Internal Market Bill.

Bob Seely was one of 339 Conservative MPs who voted 'aye' in the House of Commons last night (Tuesday).

255 MPs voted against the bill. It passed with a majority of 84.

Former Prime Minister Theresa May was among 52 MPs who did not record a vote.

The UK Internal Market Bill has proved contentious, with ministers previously admitting it could lead to the UK breaching international law.

The bill sets out rules for trade between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, after the end of the Brexit transition period in January.

Following its third reading, it has now cleared all its Commons stages and will move to the House of Lords.

Bob Seely’s full voting record can be found on the Parliament website.
