Isle Of Wight Pride Announces Ascensos As New Sponsor

Isle of Wight Pride have welcomed new sponsors, Ascensos, to join those already supporting the charity throughout the year - and for the day of celebration on July 16.

Ascensos is an independent customer management provider, currently employing more than 3,500 colleagues across a network of offices in Glasgow, the Isle of Wight, Cape Town, Bucharest, Antalya and Istanbul.

Ascensos is sponsoring the Pride Community Village, along with developing a year-round relationship to support and encourage greater Equality and Diversity in the workplace and on the Island.

Claire Sixsmith, Business Unit Director Isle of Wight, said supporting community-led initiatives, like Isle of Wight Pride, is a natural fit with the values of Ascensos:

“Ascensos is an LGBTQ+ friendly workplace. As a company, we are committed to championing diversity and inclusion across all our sites and actively encourage every colleague to show up as their authentic self at work.

“We’re delighted to celebrate this year’s Pride event alongside our key retail partner Wickes, who will join us as we raise awareness and support the LGBTQ+ community during Pride weekend”.

Also joining Pride’s valued Island supporters this year, is estate agency Hose Rhodes Dickson.

Lisa Mercer, Associate Director at Hose Rhodes Dickson, said:

“We are proud to sponsor this year’s Isle of Wight Pride, Hose Rhodes Dickson are an organisation that values the contribution that all people, no matter their gender identity, sexual orientation or background to give towards a safer and inclusive society.”

Ryde Town Council have also provided a generous grant and help to enable the event to take place and keep the seafront entertainment ticket free.

Ryde Mayor, Cllr Michael Lilley, said:

“We are delighted to continue Ryde’s wonderful relationship with IW Pride. The colour, the passion, the parade and all of the Pride activities bring an incredible, palpable energy to the town and it is fantastic that the community comes together to be such an integral part of the festivities.

"We look forward to Ryde remaining as IW Pride’s home for many years to come!”

Continuing to support Isle of Wight Pride since the first parade in 2017 are Hovertravel, Southern Vectis, Visit Isle of Wight and Wightlink.

Chartered Certified Accountants, Apple Accountancy Limited have also become activity involved in assisting the organisation of the day of Pride, along with House of Huns who have coordinated all the fabulous entertainment.

Ryde Castle is offering support facilities on the day, along with Bar 74 and Coburgs providing additional entertainment over the weekend.

Isle of Wight Pride said:

“We are so grateful for the support of the local business, without whom Pride on the Island would not happen.  Working with our team of volunteers, together we are able to stage a day of celebration and activities to support the community on the Island all year round.”
