An Isle of Wight seaside holiday flat could be converted into residential accommodation.
John Dart submitted a change of use application to County Hall to turn holiday accommodation at 31b Marsh Road in Gurnard into a residential unit.
An application form states the accommodation would have two bedrooms and would be classed as ‘market housing’.
The property is next door to the former Little Gloster restaurant, which closed in October 2020.
A Planning Statement submitted as part of Mr Dart’s application said:
“Presently the ground floor flat, 31b, is used for holiday accommodation but the applicant is of an age where that is becoming difficult to continue.
“Therefore, this application seeks to obtain approval for residential use of 31b, Marsh Road. It is intended the applicant will continue to occupy the reconstructed first floor flat – 31a, Marsh Road.”
The council’s public consultation on the application will end on March 21 and a decision is expected on April 17.
