Around 93% of over 80s on the Isle of Wight have now been vaccinated against coronavirus - and plans are in place to roll-out jabs for over 60s within "the next week".
The chair of the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been speaking exclusively to Isle of Wight Radio today (Monday).
Dr Michelle Legg, who is also a GP at Tower House Surgery in Ryde, says the Island's vaccination programme is currently performing above the national average.
Figures show only seven per cent of over 80s on the Island are yet to be vaccinated. Nationally, 88.1% of over 80s have received the jab.
Dr Legg says she hopes the Island's top four priority groups will have all been protected against COVID-19 by February 14.
She said:
"It is due to an unbelievable effort from my colleagues and the administrative side of it, the practice managers, admin teams are working extremely hard.
"It's a bit bumpy and if something happens like the vaccine doesn't coming over very occasionally then you have to reschedule everything. But it's going very well."

Around 86% of 70 to 75s on Island have also had the jab. Only 35.2% of those aged 70 to 74 have had the jab UK-wide.
A community vaccine centre opened at the Riverside Centre in Newport at the beginning the month (February).
