Isle Of Wight's Rolling Coronavirus Rate Falls Once Again

The Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus case rate is falling once again, official figures show.

Another three cases have been recorded in today's (Thursday's) data.

With a seven-day rolling average of 19.8, per 100,000, the Island is now the 14th lowest on the Government list.

Yesterday (Wednesday) it was at 21.2. The UK average is currently 59.1, per 100,000.

Since the start of the pandemic, 6,697 cases have been registered here.

In total, 278 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness.

No new deaths were recorded in today's NHS England data.

Every 75 to 79 year old on the Isle of Wight has now had their first COVID vaccine.

As more testing is rolled out on the Island, experts are warning of more cases and a potential third wave, however.
