Isle Of Wight’s Tomato Stall Wins Big In PETA’s First-Ever Farming Awards

The Tomato Stall in Arreton has been named a winner at PETA's first-ever Farming Awards.

The awards aim to promote arable and horticultural farmers at the forefront of ethical farming in the UK.

The Tomato Stall was recognised for delivering juicy, plump fruit, grown lovingly and organically on the Isle of Wight, to homes across Britain.

Other winners include a former dairy and beef farmer who relocated all his cows to a sanctuary and a company which provides fresh, organic vegetable boxes.

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” — released a video (below) last year celebrating crop farmers across the country.

PETA Director of Vegan Corporate Projects, Dawn Carr, said:

“Perfect for a classic tomato soup, refreshing salad, or pizza sauce for the whole family, The Tomato Stall’s produce shows excellence in its field.

“PETA is delighted to recognise these sowers of compassion and encourages all farmers to grow plants and leave behind the heartbreak and violence of raising animals for food.”
