Join Isle Of Wight Fight Against Plastic Pollution And Take Part In Great British Beach Clean

Islanders are being invited to get involved in this year’s Great British Beach Clean and help protect the coastline.

From Friday September 20 to Sunday September 29, thousands of volunteers across the UK and Channel Islands will be coming together to clean UK beaches, collect valuable data on litter, and contribute to vital marine conservation efforts.

The litter data collected during these beach cleans is used by the Marine Conservation Society to campaign for ocean-positive change.

Beach Cleans on the Isle of Wight

Get involved locally by signing up to one of our upcoming events:

  • Ryde Beach – Saturday September 21
  • Nodes Point, St Helen’s – Thursday September 26
  • Small Hope Beach, Shanklin – Thursday September 26

A spokesperson for the beach clean said:

"By joining the group on the beach, you’re helping work towards a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean.

"Sign up today, bring your friends and family, and help turn the tide on plastic pollution."
