Lanesend Primary School is without 25 of its pupils on what is the first day back for many.
They are self-isolating at home following a confirmed case of coronavirus.
The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed that a member of the school has tested positive for the illness.
A spokesperson said:
“Families and staff have all been informed. 25 children and three adults have been asked to remain at home, self-isolating until 14th March as a precautionary measure.
"High-quality remote learning will be provided for the children throughout this time."
The school remains open for all other staff and students.
