A large fire is being tackled near Brighstone this evening (Friday).
Firefighters from Freshwater, Newport and Ventnor, along with water carriers from Freshwater and Ventnor have been called to the incident.
The blaze - which has happened on grassy land - is understood to have started after a bonfire spread out of control.
Firefighters have been using main jets to stop the spread and to extinguish the fire, near Brook.
It’s understood crews have the fire under control, after being called to the scene just before 6.30pm.
