Lights Out At St Mary's Junction After Adverse Weather

Crews from Island Roads and Crown Park are in attendance at St Mary's junction this morning (Sunday), after heavy winds and rain overnight caused the traffic lights to fail.

Along with the absence of traffic signals, road barriers, and construction fencing was blown across the carriageway overnight, leading to some issues for motorists this morning.

Temporary traffic lights have been installed at key junction entrances and exits, including the B&Q roundabout.

Elsewhere on the Island, the heavy weather caused flash flooding in areas of Sandown and Newport, and debris and detritus to be scattered across the road network.

Motorists driving this morning are urged to take extra care.
