Liz Earle has announced the closure of its head office in Ryde, with staff redundancies set to follow.
The cosmetics brand, under the umbrella of Walgreens Boots Alliance, has put around 40 Island based staff into consultation.
Some staff are said to have been offered a different role within the company, with others potentially relocating to the mainland.
Despite the impending closure of the Nicholson Road office, the company's factory in Cowes and retail site in Ryde's Union Street are safe from closure.
Isle of Wight Radio has contacted Walgreens Boots Alliance for a statement.
UPDATE 2.45pm:
A spokesperson for Walgreens Boots Alliance said:
“Following a recent review, we have made the decision to relocate some of our Liz Earle Beauty operations and close our Ryde-based office and warehouse.
"As a business we are committed to operating an agile and effective organisation and delivering the best customer experience.
"This was not an easy decision to make but was taken to support this commitment and to ensure long-term, sustainable growth for Liz Earle Beauty, which remains a valuable part of our portfolio.
“The large majority of affected team members will move to work from one of our other Isle of Wight sites.
"This will allow our teams to work more closely, creating greater connection and collaboration in our ways of working.
"Our other Isle of Wight sites remain fully operational, and we are committed to supporting our teams throughout this process.”
