
A person is being treated by medical staff at St Mary's Hospital this afternoon (Monday) following an accident in Ryde.
Fire and ambulance crews received a midday call-out to a person trapped following a fall from a loft ladder on Bettesworth Road.
Firefighters from Newport and Ryde aided the person, before leaving them in the care of paramedics.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service confirmed:
"Fire crews were called at around midday after a person got trapped following a fall from a loft ladder.
"Firefighters from Newport and Ryde attended and released the person using rope lifting equipment.
"They were then handed into the care of paramedics, with firefighters leaving shortly after 1.30pm."
An ambulance and an emergency specialist paramedic attended the call out, with the person subsequently conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
