An Isle of Wight man has been arrested on a number of offences, including possession of a weapon and importation of drugs into the United Kingdom, following an incident involving a 'machete' outside a pub in Northwood.
Hampshire Constabulary was called to an area near the Traveller's Joy at 5.15pm on Saturday (17).
Police say they received reports of a man carrying a weapon, described as a machete.
No one was harmed during the incident and the individual had left before police arrived, the force said.
A 23-year-old man from the Isle of Wight has since been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, affray and two counts of improper importation of goods - controlled drug of Class A into the United Kingdom.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Police say enquiries are ongoing.
